Bradbury Stories: 100 of His Most Celebrated Tales by Ray Bradbury
There have been a few writers in my lifetime who have had a profound effect on my own writing and one of those was Ray Bradbury. When I was in the 5th grade one of my teachers, Mrs. Snow tasked us with reading, “There Will Come Soft Rains”. The story was about a house but it was really about the human race and what we were capable of both good and bad. While we had created this incredible home that was completely automated we still could not save ourselves from creating a device that would also be out end. In the end the technology continued and mankind did not. It is the fear voiced by many Sci Fi writers.
Bradbury has proven himself over and over again to be not only a writer but a visionary. Many of his stories are cautionary tales that we would all do well to listen to. “Bradbury Stories” is a collection of some of his best works and should be in the library of everyone who not only loves a good tale but also those who also understand that often in life we really are imitating art.
