Welcome to the Revamped Site!

Every now and again you just have to rearrange the house. This month we make some changes to the website. I guess you can say I am going through a life change right now so everyone in my immediate vicinity is realizing that if they sit for too long…I might just relocate them.

My hope is to provide a cleaner, up-to-date site that appeals to the senses as well as makes sense…punny huh? Look for additions to the site in terms of information. I am also just about done with A Soldier’s Revenge so I will be letting you know where we are at in the publishing process.

Enjoy the site and feel free to send me feedback. I welcome ideas of all types.

Thanks for the Visit & Happy Storytelling

March Challenge – Is it Luck or Skill…..

March blows in the luck of the Irish so this month’s challenge is all about luck. Write a short story about luck. It can be about being lucky or having bad luck as long as luck plays into the story. Send your story in and if it gets chosen, we’ll print it on the website next month and you will receive a Starbucks gift card.

Come on…Tell us your story!

Novel Teaser – Dark Corners

Life changes are supposed to be positive, renewing…but for Joni McKinney her life change is about to swerve into oncoming traffic by way of sweet little Benton Corners, a New England hideaway that is hiding much more than anyone could possibly imagine….

Dead. Death. Decay. Everything within eye shot reminded her of death and at once her own wayward imagination made her laugh. “Don’t be stupid,” she said to herself. She surveyed the house again and although she didn’t want to she still had to admit that everything around the house did indeed appear dead.  The grass would have to be replanted; the trees all looked like something out of an old horror movie, and even the house itself looked as though it had been built before Christ.  If she were honest the whole scene gave her the creeps.  There you go again Joni McKinney; she continued the conversation in her head, letting your imagination run wild.  Ever since she and Devin had arrived in town she had felt as though she had stepped back in time.

Benton Corners was a small Victorian type of place with big old houses and little homey shops.  At first Joni had been pleasantly surprised by the town.  Before they had actually entered the town limits, in her uninformed pre-judgment, she had already decided they were headed for hicksville. After actually seeing it though she warmed up quickly, only to have her optimism squashed upon seeing the house in which her husband expected her to live.  So…. here she was feeling like an actor in one of those old vampire movies.  She let out a long exasperated sigh.

Look for Dark Corners this Spring in bookstores and discover that sometimes first impressions shouldn’t be ignored.
